One of the Colfax Heritage Museum’s photo exhibits is of the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad. The NCNG Railroad ran between Nevada County and Colfax from 1876-1943. The photos are displayed on the walls of the meeting room in the in the Colfax Passenger Depot, and are shown below.
The Colfax Passenger Depot (99 Railroad St, Colfax, CA) contains the museum itself, the Colfax Area Chamber of Commerce, and a public meeting room where community and city meetings are held. The meeting room also serves as a comfortable place for train and bus passengers to relax, read, have a snack, and use the public restrooms.
