Like many non-profits, the Colfax Area Historical Society (CAHS) depends on volunteers to carry out its mission to promote interest in the history of the Colfax, California area; support a local Museum; cooperate with other Historical Societies and local groups; discover, collect and make accessible to the public an Archive of historical information and objects; mark places and buildings of historical interest and catalog such markers in an orderly and available manner; and accept gifts and donations.
Volunteering can be very rewarding, and just a few hours a week can make a big difference. The CAHS offers several options for volunteers, Some tasks are in person, some can be done at home or virtually.
