About the author: Pat Jones (1921–1997) was a respected local historian, author, and longtime news editor of The Colfax Record. Throughout her career, she documented the history of Colfax and dozens of surrounding communities through books and newspaper articles, including The Colfax Connection and Chicago Park Connection. Her meticulous research and passion for preserving local history have left a lasting legacy, recognized by a commemorative plaque in downtown Colfax honoring her contributions.
